The warm environment and pleasant ambience at Horsfall House are a tribute to the professionalism of the management and dedication of the staff.
Our qualified nursing personnel are especially selected for their skills and experience within elderly care. All are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and are required to maintain their clinical competence by attending regular mandatory and supplementary training sessions.
The carers are recruited for their commitment to care of the elderly. They are required to achieve a minimum Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care and are encouraged to strive towards a Level 3 if relevant to their role and area of responsibility. The award body was hitherto National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) and is now the Quality Care Framework (QCF).
We are also a major employer of local young people. We believe the younger generation’s involvement in caring for the elderly helps to build community cohesion. We actively encourage their participation, by offering training and support.
