Home Care Services

Horfall House Home Care Service is designed to care for those in need of support at home. For many in the local area it is a friendly and proactive lifeline that enables them to continue living at home for as long as possible.

The Home Care Service is provided by fully trained staff and is available from 7am to 11pm.

We welcome both private and Social Services-funded places (including the Direct Payments Scheme) and we endeavour to meet the needs of all on an individual basis.

We also liaise with GPs, District Nurses and Social Services to promote overall well-being and a good standard of care.

The Service includes all elements of personal care and general household duties, including:

  • household tasks
  • Housework
  • Shopping/collecting pensions and prescriptions
  • Cooking a meal/food preparation
  • Laundry
  • Personal care
  • Help with dressing
  • Help with washing
  • Help with bathing
  • Help with toileting

  • Sitting service
  • We can provide a carer for longer periods of time to provide companionship and support whilst the main carer takes a break
  • Meals on Wheels
  • We can offer a main meal (lunch) delivery service to your own home. For food-safety reasons this operates within a specified radius

  • End of Life Care
  • Together with other agencies such as the district nursing teams and Macmillan Nursing we support those who are in the end stages of life to remain at home if they choose to do this.
