Day Centre Services

The Day Centre at Horsfall House is a hugely popular destination for many elderly people in the area. Open from Monday to Saturday, it offers social and physical stimulation through a range of activities that have seen many strong friendships being created along the way. It really is a fun place to be.

We welcome both private and Social Services-funded places (including the Direct Payments Scheme) and endeavour to meet the needs of all on an individual basis.

Activities

These include: gentle exercise – Tai Chi and Extend Exercise programme; musical entertainers; craft sessions; art classes; art; pressed-flowers classes; quizzes; games; crosswords; and interesting outings to various destinations. Or if you prefer, just come along for a chat.

Transport and Refreshments

For users of the Day Centre, we are happy to provide minibus transport, refreshments throughout the day, and a home-cooked meal; all of these are included in the daily cost.

A reduced cost applies for people making their own transport arrangements.

Additional Services

We offer the additional services of chiropody, hairdressing and bathing – all at extra, privately arranged fees.

We believe that the facilities and the commitment of our trained staff all contribute to the friendly atmosphere at the Day Centre. Our aim is to provide a truly enjoyable environment for the day with the addition of any individual care that may be needed.
